Sun2sno

Sun2sno

A lacy half pi shawl designed to use up a full skein of Wollmeise sock yarn, but without a lacy edging. Takes you from the height of summer to the depth of winter.

Includes written and charted instructions.

Vinopolis

Vinopolis

A summer hug. One piece to keep your arms warm on summer evenings with the bonus feature of being unable to lose one arm (unlike with wristwarmers). Increase your needle size to accommodate increases in arm circumference, so it can fit anyone.

Worked from the left wrist, up the left arm, across the back, down the right arm and finishing at the right wrist (includes thumbholes).

Owlpad

Owlpad

A cabled cosy for your ipad with ever watchful owls to look after its precious cargo. Designed to fit both 1st and 2nd generation ipads.

Beads can be used for the eyes, but I would advise against it as they may scratch the screen. Instead use small sequins, or some contrasting thread.

Two easy-to-master lace patterns combine to make this leaf-edged stole which, with optional beads, can take you from day to night, and right through all of the seasons.

The pattern can be knitted in a heavier weight of yarn, or with different proportions to make anything from a scarf to a blanket.

Hive

Reverse the bee decline by creating your own hive. Two easy-to-master lace patterns combine to make this leaf-edged stole which keep a swarm of bees firmly in check.

Barcode mittens

Barcode Mittens

Convertible colourwork mittens with half-fingers, perfect for those of a geeky/nerdy persuasion.

Available in two sizes: medium and large.

Gauge for medium is 40 stitches and 42 rows over 4 inches/10cm.
Gauge for large is 32 stitches and 36 rows over 4 inches/10cm.

Customisable to your individual hand size and shape.

Barcode colourwork pattern is charted.

Darling Buds

A crescent-shaped shawlette with a delicate knitted-on edging featuring rambling flowers. Nice and light, just enough to give you a little bit of warmth and bring a bit of colour into your life.

Bungay shawlette

A heart-shaped shawlette with a buttercup lace knitted-on edging.

Perfect for that single skein of special sock yarn.

Works with variegated, semi-solid, and solid colourways.

Can be worn with the point at the back or at the front, great for that little bit of warmth and splash of colour.

Hamster Jam

Hamster Jam

The name of the lace pattern used for the knitted-on edging of this light and delicate shawlette is “buttercup” but I think they look more like tulips, so welcome to Hamster Jam.

A crescent-shaped shawlette worked in fingering weight/sock yarn with no short rows used in the shaping.

Ideal for balmy summer evenings.

Loperwood

Loperwood

The travelling floral lace edging of this shawl, surrounding the smooth inner heart reminds me of the cricket pitch at Loperwood where my family used to play.

A mindless knit for the main body with a knitted-on lace edging to add interest, works with any sock yarn (solid, semi-solid, variegated) and is an ideal one-skein project.

The edging instructions are entirely written, not charted.

Cricket shawl

Cricket shawl

“I don’t like cricket, oh no. I love it.” ~ 10CC

What could be better than a day spent at the cricket? Yet as the play drifts on into the evening it can get a little chilly, so wrap yourself in this lightweight shawl. Personalise it with your team’s colours and keep snuggled up if rain stops play.

Fully written, line-by-line instructions, with simple stripes of colour make this heart-shaped cabled shawl a six for sure. The knitted-on lace edging adds a feminine and whimsical touch.

Morsel

A simple crescent shawl with a sliver of lace border. No short rows, no knitted-on edging, no charts. This tasty little morsel is a nice quick knit with minimal fuss and can be scaled up or down to make maximum use of that special sock yarn or remnant.

Crepuscular rays are seen at twilight and this shawlette is also perfect for the twilight hours. Super simple with no short rows, charts, or knitted-on edging. Perfect for using up that leftover sock yarn or special small skein.

A fully charted stranded colourwork mitten with an afterthought thumb.

Perfect for Winter with holly and ivy motifs.

Written for small adult women’s hands (circumference 6.5”/16cm, length 7”/18cm), but adjustable for any fit by altering the gauge.

Yarn requirements:

  • 180-220 yards fingering weight/4-ply/sock yarn in main colour
  • 20-40 yards fingering weight/4-ply/sock yarn in contrast colour 1

Cheetah mittens

Cheetah Mittens

Be an animal with these cheetah print mittens.

Simple stranded colourwork creates a dazzling effect, with an afterthought thumb. Sized for a woman’s adult hands (circumference 6.5”/16cm, length 7”/18cm) it can be adjusted by altering your gauge.

Yarn requirements:

  • 180-220 yards fingering weight/4-ply/sock yarn in main colour
  • 100-140 yards fingering weight/4-ply/sock yarn in contrast colour

You could even knit them in animal colours.

Pentire Point

Pentire Collage

An easy to work but dramatic lace shawl with three shaping options. Inspired by the rugged Cornish coastline.

Each shawl requires:

  • 420-480 yards of 4-ply/fingering weight/sock yarn
  • 4mm needle (or size necessary to achieve gauge)
  • tapestry needle to weave in ends
  • 2 stitch markers (for triangle and heart-shaped shawls)

Gauge: 14 sts and 29 rows over 4 inches/10 cm in stockinette after blocking (changes to gauge will result in more/less yarn being used and different final dimensions).

Finished measurements:

  • Triangle – wingspan 59 inches / 150 cm, maximum depth 27.5 inches / 70 cm
  • Heart – wingspan 61 inches / 155 cm, maximum depth 29 inches / 74 cm
  • Crescent – wingspan 64 inches / 162 cm, maximum depth 21 inches / 53 cm

xstitch cowl

xstitch cowl & hat

A fully reversible infinity scarf that is great for breaking up variegated yarns. Can be worked as a flat loop or with a half or full twist. It can be made as long, short or wide as you want and can be worn in multiple ways.

Cowl requires:

  • 340-380 yards of 4-ply/fingering weight/sock yarn
  • 2.75mm needle (or size necessary to achieve gauge)
  • tapestry needle to graft ends together

Dayflower cowl

A delicate cowl with a travelling leaf pattern designed to be made in fingering/4ply yarn. Fully adaptable for width and circumference. Pattern includes written instructions for stitch pattern, stitch counts at the end of each round and charted instructions for stitch pattern.

* single loop version (circumference 32″/81cm, width 12.5″/32cm) – 180 yards

A playful pair of mittens that mimic ladybirds. Keep your fingers warm and a smile on your (and everyone else’s) face while we await the return of these aphid-loving creatures from their winter hibernation.

The colourwork pattern is fully charted and adaptable for longer or shorter hands, narrower or wider thumbs. Written instructions accompany the colourwork chart, explaining how to work the cuff, top and thumb gusset.

The pattern is sized for average adult hands (circumference 6.5”/16cm, length 7”/18cm) but it can be adjusted by altering your gauge.

* 135-160 yards fingering weight/4-ply/sock yarn in main colour

A reworking of an old pattern, now available in an additional longer length, with a better flow of cables and ribbing.

The cable pattern is fully charted and the wristers are fully adaptable for longer or shorter hands, narrower or wider thumbs. Written instructions accompany the cable chart, explaining how to work the cuff, top and thumb gusset.

The pattern is sized for average adult hands (circumference 6.5”/16cm, length 7”/18cm) but it can be adjusted by altering your gauge.

Yarn requirements:

  • 220-230 yards fingering weight/4-ply/sock yarn for the longer, gauntlet length
  • 120-160 yards fingering weight/4-ply/sock yarn for the shorter, wrister length

Gullfoss Cardigan

A seamless waterfall cardigan with a lace and cable panel which drapes delicately down the body. Inspired by the majestic Gullfoss waterfall in Iceland with it’s three steps, interest is added with a mirrored lace and cable panel at each edge with an integrated icord edging.

The cardigan can be worn with either side to the front, or left open.

The lace and cable panel is provided with both written and charted instructions.

2 pdf files are provided – a printer friendly version and one with all of the high-res images.

Yarn requirements:

  • 1,200 – 2,300 yards of fingering/4-ply/sock weight yarn

Sizes available:
